Summer holds a special place in my heart To me summer means long days at the pool, hot dogs & hamburgers on the grill, 4 of July, dad’s baked beans and mom’s ice cream dessert. I can’t think of anything I don’t like about summer – I even LOVE these 92* days. And it’s not quite summer until our first few days at the pool. Weekends spent with kids fighting over how many rafts they get, the girls fighting over the lounge chairs so they can use them for forts, squirt gun fights with Grandma Barb, an endless supply of chips and snacks, and my favorite – “did you put sunscreen on??” (and that one goes for all of us)

This past Sunday was my idea of a perfect afternoon at the pool. I mentioned to someone the next day that I spent the afternoon at the pool and he replied “Oh, it must have been nice and quiet – just you and Harry.” And to that I replied “Oh no!! It’s never quiet!! There are always a pool full of kids, all us girls kicked back getting a tan, and mom in her rocker in the shade. But that is what I love about it – the craziness is my favorite”

I can’t think of a better way to spend my weekends. I love the craziness, the yelling, the fighting, the Kool Aid, the smell of the suntan lotion – I can’t imagine it any other way

Earlier this week, I met up with Kristi, Zak, and their new little guy – Timothy! Newborn photography is still new to me, so I contacted Kristi and asked her if I could ‘borrow’ her little guy so I could get a little more experience in the newborn world I’m not sure if Timmy enjoyed being curled up into crazy positions – but I had a great time catching up with Kristi and Zak and taking as many pictures as possible! Kristi, Zak and Baby Timmy – thank you guys so much again!

: last week i met up with my old friend sam and her beautiful little girl, elise! when sam and i were emailing back and forth about the session, she mentioned that elise smiles easily – and she wasn’t kidding! when i first saw elise in her car seat – she had the biggest smile and those sweet little smiles lasted the entire session!
